What can we do for September 10th ?

Where has our summer gone? I can’t believe I had just posted about how HOT and HUMID summer is and how it was effecting everyone now it is almost over (or at least it feels like it is) and it is still August. The leaves are starting to fall, a bit early I think, birds are starting to congregate. Back to school sales have been out for more than a month now and we are planning for National Suicide Prevention week, day September 10th. This year the National Council for Suicide Prevention is promoting a new campaign, “Take 5”. Take five minutes to take 5 steps; 1) Learn the signs 2) Join the movement 3) Spread the word 4) Support a friend 5) Reach out if you need help. Simple enough yet if this catches on it can have powerful overtones. Social messaging is not new. Businesses have promoted ad campaigns for years getting us to buy their products. Sometimes the most successful are concealed to look like news reports. I believe this is really worth promoting. Please go to www.take5tosavelives.org it describes how to implement this model.
Remember stay safe, stay connected
